Ryan Lowe

1 NHL Game

November 26, 2014 San Jose Sharks vs Calgary Flames. 0-2 loss.

Ryan Lowe played college hockey with San Jose State. He was named to the All-West Region team three times. After graduating, Lowe spent some time playing pro hockey in North America. He played one game for the 2007/2008 Utah Grizzlies and dressed in over a dozen more ECHL games as a backup. In 2008, he travelled across the globe to play professionally in the Australian Ice Hockey League. He last played pro hockey for the 2012/2013 Sydney Bears.

Lowe was retired when the San Jose Sharks came calling. When San Jose's goalie, Troy Grosenick, suffered an injury in practise the team was left with a hole in their roster. They gave local goalie Ryan Lowe the chance to dress as their backup to Antti Niemi. "This stage and obviously it being the NHL was, there's nothing else like it," said Lowe. "Just seeing how these guys get ready for a game is something I'll never forget." (1)

Lowe is currently working as a goaltending coach with the San Jose Jr. Sharks.

  • Wore #1 with the Sharks
